This project involves the renovation of a 90 m² single-family apartment, designed for a couple with a baby.

While the family resides abroad, the apartment will be rented out.

The main goal of the renovation is to create a bright, spacious, and comfortable living area, clearly separating it from the private night zone. In its current state, different uses are scattered throughout the apartment, so the redesign improves functionality by reconfiguring the space.

 

The new layout combines the living room, dining area, and kitchen into a single open-plan space, enhancing openness and natural light. Additionally, the renovation reconnects the apartment with its surroundings by integrating the balcony into the main living area.

The building faces a tree-lined area, offering pleasant views,

while the east-facing balcony also provides a glimpse of the sea.

 

Colour plays a key role in the design. The yellow aluminium window frames becomes a focal point, creating striking contrasts with the urban and natural environment.

This bold hue is also used in the kitchen, brightening this central space, which was originally darker. Next to the kitchen, a welcoming entry sequence is created with a lower ceiling, adding warmth to the space.

 

 

Throughout the apartment, ceilings are painted in different colours, subtly highlighting the existing beam structure and giving each room a unique and vibrant atmosphere

The material palette is simple yet carefully selected to enhance the light and colour. In wet areas, tiles are used, while the rest of the apartment features wooden flooring, a warm and pleasant material underfoot. The strong grain of the wood contrasts with the smooth finishes of the lacquers and painted surfaces, achieving a balance between warmth and modernity.
